Engineering Design Machine Contest is a uniquely fun engineering competition which encourages teamwork and out-of-the-box problem solving targeted toward K-12 schools in SouthEastern Minnesota. In conjunction with Minnesota State Engineering Center of Excellence, Winona State University College of Science and Engineering hosted one of the regional competitions that highlights Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) friendly designs that ask participants to complete a simple task. This year's theme was "Power the World."

Students in the RTTR 421 Outdoor Education and Interpretive Services class planned and conducted a series of outdoor education lessons for the 4th grade students at Cotter Elementary School on Thursday, October 6th at Lions Park in Winona.
Each of the four interactive lessons focused on a theme: the water cycle, waste reduction/recycling, the (local) food chain, and the monarch butterfly.
